Voting in the Board election ran from Tuesday, March 10 to Tuesday, March 31, 2026. 

Election Results

Dr. Michel Chiasson, a family physician from Cheticamp, has been elected to the Family Physician from outside Metro Halifax and Dr. Travis Carpenter, Internal Medicine in Halifax, was acclaimed to the Specialist inside HRM seat. They will serve a three-year term beginning in June 2026. 

Board role 

The Board of Directors is responsible for developing and executing the strategic direction, approving governing policy and overseeing the management of the association.

Board meetings 

There are seven meetings per year, held on Friday afternoons. 

Honoraria 

Board members are entitled to reimbursement for travel expenses and honoraria as outlined in the association’s Honoraria and Expense Policy.
