In 2025, Choosing Wisely Canada introduced its new commitment – Less, but better – focusing on care that is better for patients, better for the system and better for the planet.
Choosing Wisely offers over 570 evidence-based recommendations on tests, medications and procedures to support informed decision-making by patients and healthcare providers.
Building on this national work, Choosing Wisely Nova Scotia advances local initiatives aimed at reducing unnecessary care and promoting high-value, patient centered practices across the province. CWNS coordinates provincial efforts through collaboration with Doctors Nova Scotia, IWK Health, Nova Scotia Health, Dalhousie Faculty of Medicine, and the Department of Health and Wellness to support safe, effective and sustainable healthcare for Nova Scotians.
