About the presenters

Imran Sheikh – Virtual Care Project Manager - e-Health Operations - Health PEI
Imran is part of a group of several subject matter experts in digital health who guide the development and growth of virtual care capabilities in PEI. He holds a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering from Ryerson University with a focus on tissue engineering. Previously, Imran was an Operations Manager at St. Michael’s Hospital and at a start-up developing lab-grown pet food. With a background in research and entrepreneurship, Imran strives to be at the intersections of health and technology.

Bethany Hughes - eHealth Program Lead – e-Health Operations - Health PEI
Bethany oversees digital health operations and opportunities for growth in new clinical areas. She has a Bachelors and a Masters degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in tissue engineering from Ryerson University and St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. Bethany was previously the Operations Manager at the Science Discovery Zone, a research-based business incubator at Ryerson University to support fostering entrepreneurship for STEM students. Beth has also co-founded start-ups in food allergies and custom 3D printing.
