Leading Through Digital Transformation

Large-scale digital transformation changes more than technology. It can affect clinical workflows, roles, routines, decision-making and long-established ways of working across the health system.

Nova Scotia Health is in a period of rapid transformational change. We are all navigating these changes and juggling competing priorities. Physician leaders may be asked to guide colleagues at different points in the transformation journey – including as implementation approaches and local impacts become more immediate.

This practical 90-minute online workshop (TEAMS) will focus on three areas:

• Prepare the ground 

Quickly orient yourself as a leader, identify the clinical and people impacts that matter most. Determine who needs to be engaged and prepare to lead with clarity, credibility and purpose.

• Lead through pressure

Communicate evolving information clearly, build trust quickly, use influence strategically and surface concerns early. Determine what can be addressed locally, what needs escalation and what should be monitored.

• Help make change stick 

Support colleagues as new workflows become the normal way of practicing, reinforce the intended benefits of standardized ways of working, and surface legitimate local issues early to protect patient safety and patient care.

Participants will leave with practical physician focused information, concern-triage and change-leadership tools they can use immediately.

About the facilitators:

Robin England works in Change & Operational Readiness at Nova Scotia Health, helping leaders turn complex transformation into clear, executable action. Her experience spans healthcare, government and global operations, including large-scale initiatives involving multiple teams, functions and concurrent priorities. With professional certifications in change management (Prosci), project management (PMP), and Lean Six Sigma, Robin brings a practical, systems-focused approach to strengthening readiness, alignment, decision-making and leadership through ambiguity.

Lorie Campbell is an Executive Leadership Coach and facilitator embedded in Medical Affairs at Nova Scotia Health with more than two decades of experience in healthcare leadership development. A Certified Professional Co-Active Coach, she specializes in physician leadership development, partnering with physician leaders, executives, and their teams to strengthen leadership capacity, navigate complexity and lead meaningful change across the healthcare system. She believes that developing exceptional leaders is one of the most powerful ways to improve healthcare.
