Family physician: Bedford (Ravines Medical Centre)

The Ravines Medical Group is a collaborative practice group wherein physicians and supporting licensed health care professionals collaborate on general health care outcome targets, meet to discuss patient care, and cover each other’s patients while a physician is not scheduled in the clinic. Our team is comprised of several full time and part time physicians, family practice nurses, nurse practitioners, dietitians, social work, physio therapists/ massage therapists, a clinic director, and a wonderful group of admin assistants.  The team is a good mix of age, gender, and medical experience, and is reinforced by good mentors who are generous with their time. Our group of physicians meets once a week, to do continuing medical education, and to share and collaborate on challenging clinical cases. The team also participates in teaching second year family medicine residents from Dalhousie University, in addition to medical students.

The Ravines Medical Centre gives excellent patient access for urgent issues, since each provider offers same day appointments weekly for all patients of our clinics. This style of practice benefits not only the patients but helps the doctors in arranging vacation time with short notice with coverage of a team and locums when available.

The clinic takes pride in managing the operational business of medicine for you such as billings, administrative staffing, management of referrals, management of vaccines, ordering of all supplies and general maintenance of the clinic. Your exam rooms and office space are fully equipped including access to EMR enterprise (TELUS HEALTH Med Access) and computer hardware. We pride ourselves on providing the support for our physicians to provide medical services outside of the clinic to diversify and complement their family practice.

The incoming physician will have the choice of either the alternative payment plan (APP) or fee for service model as the Ravines Medical Group accommodates both.
