This initiative is financially supported by the CMA, Scotiabank and MD as part of Doctors Nova Scotia’s Restoring the Joy in the Practice of Medicine wellness framework.
Health care is the leading target for cybercriminals and a breach can have serious consequences, including compromising patient safety, breach of privacy and being unable to provide care because you are locked out of your electronic medical record.
Doctors Nova Scotia, with support from the CMA, has budgeted $25,000 to fund approximately 600 community-based physicians and their clinic staff to take advantage of a free one-year subscription to Saegis Shield e-learning.
Saegis Shield is a comprehensive, accredited, online cybersecurity and privacy education program that addresses the unique needs of Canadian health-care environments. Physicians will earn 30 credits from their respective college for completing the year-long course.
