Leading in health homes – October SPL meeting

At the conclusion of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe the provincial direction for health homes and primary care transformation. (CanMEDS role: Health Advocate, Leader, Collaborator)
- Explain DNS’s position, research and role in supporting physician leaders. (CanMEDS role: Collaborator, Scholar, Health Advocate)
- Identify leadership actions that support collaboration, implementation and advocacy. (CanMEDS role: Leader, Collaboration, Health Advocate, Collaborator)
Doctors Nova Scotia will provide a briefing on health homes research, their position and member perspectives. Participants will hear a provincial context update and take part in a panel discussion to explore system, policy and practice implications. The panelists include Drs. John Ross and Amanda MacDonald-Green and healthcare consultant, MJ Hampton. There will be a Q&A period as part of the panel.
This activity meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Dalhousie University Continuing Professional Development and Medical Education for up to 2.0 Mainpro+ Certified Activity credits.
